Who We Are
The Office of the Family Law Facilitator provides assistance to unrepresented parties in child and spousal support cases. The goal of the Family Law Facilitator is to provide direction to the unrepresented party.
The Family Law Facilitator services include:
Interviewing customers and assess facts and legal issues. We meet with customers face-to-face, by mail, email and over the telephone at five sites: Delano, Lamont, Metro, Metro Justice, Mojave, Ridgecrest (by video conference), Shafter. Look at the Travel Schedule for dates and times.
Providing procedural information, sample packets and forms on how to obtain divorce, custody, visitation, child and spousal support, domestic violence, guardianships, abandonment, adoption, parentage, etc.
Checking forms for accuracy and file readiness.
Preparing orders and judgments.
Providing service by mail of family law documents.
Assisting customers who are directly referred to us by judicial officers, family law and other court divisions.
Maintaining and distributing community resource information to families and children.
Meeting with and preparing child support related documents for customers with child support cases currently assigned to the Department of Child Support Services.
Meeting with and preparing legal documents for customers with Accommodation Orders per California Rules of Court, Rule 1.100.
